I Stopped Watching Colbert And CBS Entirely
- - Colbert show is criticized for chasing trends and backfiring.
- - Batiste is awkward on camera with distracting noises; muting him is suggested.
Going way too ethnic, trying to be cool, but it's backfiring. The Stephen Colbert Show is a good example.
Jon Batiste the bandleader is awful, but I believe CBS paid for him to win awards, so they could champion him to their new target audience. Bad decision. He is very awkward in front of the camera, and his noises from the sidelines are a significant distraction to Colbert's good monologue, at which time I turn the channel. They need to shut down Batiste's microphone and let him play the music only, which is barely mediocre.
That he is even the bandleader with so little talent also makes a statement about CBS's position on whom they want to attract as an audience and how far they would go to do it. Seems to follow a formula if you look at the history.
I found better alternatives to Colbert and CBS, so I dumped the company. CBS needs better decision makers, better decisions, and not be so obvious about why it has taken on this latest target audience, which I will say again I think is a big mistake by CBS as it alienates a wider audience.

Stupid Reality Programs on CBS

I do not enjoy this type of junk when I watch TV.
I prefer programs that challenge my intelligence or give me information that I find useful. I have watched over the past several seasons as CBS has dropped one series after the other that were entertaining, if you are not a member of the "lowest common denominator" culturally speaking.
